According to ChainCatcher, last Friday, a class action lawsuit was filed against Keith Gill (aka Roaring Kitty), claiming that his hype on social media pushed up the share price of GameStop (GME) for his own personal gain. The plaintiff voluntarily dismissed the lawsuit on Monday.
The case remained on the court docket for just one business day before it was dropped hours after the court issued a subpoena to Gill, requiring him to respond to the complaint within 21 days. In two sentences, the plaintiffs' lawyers informed the court that they were dropping the lawsuit without prejudice.
It is understood that since the case was dismissed without any consequences, it is not ruled out that the plaintiff will re-file a lawsuit against Gill in the future.
