Crypto4Harris founder: We are preparing for the potential Harris government to ensure that the cryptocurrency industry is "at the forefront".

According to Mars Finance, Jonathan Padilla, one of the organizers of Crypto4Harris, a crypto advocacy organization supporting Harris, founder of Snickerdoodle Labs, and former head of blockchain strategy at PayPal, said in an interview, "Tomorrow's event (hosting an online town hall meeting) is really a starting point. Our bigger goal is to really participate in Harris' campaign in a meaningful way and to formally restart." Cryptocurrency-friendly U.S. Congressman Wiley Nickel said he looks forward to speaking at the town hall on Wednesday. "I'm very happy to join a great group of Democrats committed to digital assets, and they are all happy to elect Kamala Harris as president," Nickel said in an email. "As Democrats, it's important that we encourage digital innovation while protecting American consumers. We are excited about the new opportunities that Kamala Harris and her administration will bring to American innovative technology." Democratic Representative Yadira Caraveo of Colorado will also speak at the event. She voted in favor of a crypto market structure bill in May and said the legislation would allow innovation in the digital asset market while protecting consumers. "As the senior member of the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Commodity Markets, Digital Assets, and Rural Development, she will discuss crypto as a bipartisan issue," a spokesperson for Rep. Caraveo said in an email. Padilla said Crypto4Harris is working to prepare for a potential Harris administration to keep the crypto industry "at the forefront," including policy, fundraising, and research on who could be appointed to senior positions at the U.S. Treasury or the U.S. SEC. "These are all our goals, and we want an organized approach to influencing government and policy that will benefit the industry." It also said that Crypto4Harris is participating in the vice presidential campaign, "We are in contact with all aspects of the campaign, and initial signs indicate that the two parties are willing to work together to find a way forward."
