What is REDO?
REDO was drawn and named by Telegram founder Pavel Durov in 2018. Its full name is Resistance Dog, a dog wearing a hat.
According to X user ttty, REDO first appeared in the movement against Putin in Russia in 2009. On that day, Durov received an email from the Kremlin asking him to cooperate in closing Alexei Navalny's VK account and provide relevant account data.
Durov replied with a photo of a puppy with its tongue sticking out and wearing a blue sweatshirt. In case the other party didn’t understand, he added: “This is my answer.”
In 2014, civil unrest broke out in Ukraine, and Russian troops entered the Crimean Peninsula. After that, Crimea seceded from Ukraine and joined Russia through a referendum. One day, Durov received another email asking him to hand over the information of a Ukrainian politician.
Durov said this was a difficult situation. My mother is Ukrainian and my father is Russian - "these two countries are probably the two closest relatives in the big family of nations." - He didn't want to stand on either side.
So he sent back two more photos of puppies.”
Since then, the image of a dog wearing a hat has become the spiritual totem of Telegram. In many subsequent tweets, Telegram officials have also interacted with REDO resistance dog.
As such, REDO has since then served as the (un)official mascot for Telegram’s vision of “resisting” censorship.
What is TON ecosystem doing?
Durov was arrested in Paris on Saturday evening as part of a preliminary investigation into charges including terrorism, drug trafficking, fraud, money laundering and child abuse.

In support of Digital Resistance, we are updating the Toncoin logo and profile picture on the TON Community Channel to the global symbol of digital resistance – the Resistance Dog. Pavel Durov started this movement while fighting to preserve the privacy of Telegram users and protect free speech.”
The post, which reads like a battle cry, also suggests that participants change their profile pictures to resistance dogs. 
The head of the TON community even @Musk, suggesting that for those who change their avatars to REDO, speed up the blue check verification process on the X. "This is a movement with important cultural significance."
This should be a marketing strategy. Previously, Musk has expressed support for Durov and mentioned that freedom of speech is very important.
Currently, the image of TON on the Binance exchange has become this dog.
It is expected that the future trend of REDO is likely to be closely related to the entire movement. 
At present, from the perspective of price, among the MEMEs related to Durov’s arrest, a MEME coin with a certain market value appeared in the TRON ecosystem, called FREEDUROV.
