On September 17, CNBC reported that people familiar with the matter revealed that real estate investor Witkoff and Trump Organization Executive Vice President Eric Trump are the two decision makers of the Trump family's crypto project World Liberty Financial. Both companies are new players in the crypto industry.
CNBC reached out to Eric Trump and Witkoff about their leadership roles in World Liberty Financial but did not immediately receive a response. A person familiar with the project said Witkoff had little interest in understanding how the platform works. The source also said anyone who wanted to know important details of the platform, including the white paper, was asked to sign a nondisclosure agreement.
