Two former SEC staff members will attend a hearing on crypto regulation

Odaily Odaily News: The U.S. House of Representatives Digital Assets, Fintech, and Inclusion Subcommittee said in a notice on September 13 that they will hold a hearing entitled "Dazed and Confused: Breaking the SEC's Politicized Approach to Digital Assets." Witnesses at the September 18 hearing will include former SEC Commissioners Dan Gallagher and Michael Liftik, who served as a lawyer, senior advisor, or acting head of enforcement during his approximately tenure at the SEC. The leadership of the subcommittee claimed that SEC Chairman Ary Gensler "prioritized and promoted an enforcement and regulatory agenda that was detrimental to the digital asset ecosystem" during his tenure. They pointed out that Gensler's position on digital assets as securities under the Howey test was inconsistent and that there were disagreements among members of the agency. (Cointelegraph)
