Trump nominates Brooke Rollins as U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, not former Bakkt CEO

According to reports, Trump is expected to appoint former Senator and Bakkt's former CEO Kelly Loeffler as Secretary of Agriculture. Loeffler will also serve as co-chair of Trump's inauguration committee. However, on Saturday afternoon, Trump officially nominated Brooke Rollins as U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. She is the CEO of the America First Policy Institute, which is associated with Trump's transition team. According to CNN, "Loeffler and the transition team had discussed the position multiple times. But Trump did not announce his choice for Agriculture Secretary when he released a series of other messages on Friday night, raising questions about whether Loeffler would ultimately get the job." Loeffler has been Bakkt's CEO since its inception in 2018 until she was appointed as a Senator by Georgia Republican Governor Brian Kemp in 2019.
