According to Lookonchain monitoring, the Trump family's DeFi project World Liberty Financial has a multi-signature address, and today within just nine hours, it spent $12 million to aggressively buy ETH, LINK, AAVE and other cryptocurrencies, with the specific amounts as follows:
- Spent 10 million USDC at an average price of $3,801 to buy 2,631 ETH
- Spent 1 million USDC at an average price of $24.2 to buy 41,335 LINK
- Spent 1 million USDC at an average price of $297.8 to buy 3,357 AAVE
World Liberty Financial officially launched this September on Ethereum, providing crypto lending services and issuing non-transferable WLFI tokens, with the official documents indicating that DT Marks DEFI LLC, a Delaware company founded by the Trump family, will receive 75% of the WLFI token sales revenue and can decide on its own financial management.
Arkham data shows that the multi-signature address of World Liberty Financial currently holds $749 million in cryptocurrencies, with the largest holding being ETH, with 14,575.6 ETH worth $573 million, which seems to indicate the Trump family's strong preference for ETH.
Mechanism Capital partner Andrew Kang stated that he previously thought ETH and the ETH/BTC exchange rate were overhyped before the launch of an Ethereum spot ETF, but with the Trump family using WLFI revenue to buy ETH, and the nomination of SEC and CFTC chairs who support Ethereum/DeFi, as well as the selling pressure and hype around ETHE having dissipated, Ethereum no longer looks as bad.
Trump's Second Son: Bitcoin is a Better Investment than Real Estate
Meanwhile, Eric Trump, the second son of Trump and the current Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization, was interviewed by Bitcoin Magazine at the Bitcoin MENA conference in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, stating that Bitcoin is a better investment than real estate.
Eric Trump explained that the Trump family built its business on real estate, which is the family's beloved industry, and the Trump family understands real estate better than anyone else, but when it comes to a hedge against real estate, that would be Bit, whose advantage is that it can be immediately monetized:
If I want to build a hotel, it might take five years, and if I want to sell that hotel, it might take two years. Real estate has a lot of advantages, such as leverage and tax benefits, but real estate has very poor liquidity.
Given the lack of liquidity in real estate, Eric Trump pointed out that if London is a better market, it would be very difficult to move the Trump Tower in New York to London, whereas Bit can be easily transported, it is digitized, with no additional fees, no brokers, bankers, lawyers, title companies, and no intermediaries, and also no risk of fire, flood, tornado or hurricane:
This is a very wonderful thing, and I believe that cryptocurrencies are undoubtedly the future, and I truly believe that those who embrace it early on will succeed, while those who refuse to accept it will be left behind.
