President-elect Donald Trump of the United States rang the opening Bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday, and he was also named TIME's Person of the Year, the second time since 2016. Shortly after ringing the Bell, he was interviewed and stated that the US will become the global leader in Bit currency during his next term.
Trump answered questions about a potential Bit strategy reserve during an interview with CNBC host Jim Cramer.
"We're going to do some really great things in Bit currency, because we don't want China or any other country... other countries are embracing it, and we want to be ahead of the curve."
Trump also stated that the US hopes to be a leader in artificial intelligence, and emphasized the need for significant energy investments to ensure this position.
