How to seize the opportunity in the wave of AI agent tokenization?
Looking back on October, Virtuals launched the concept of AI agent tokenization. This was a bold attempt, but at the time, most people were not interested in it - because the market was not ready.
However, today, many of Virtuals' agents have achieved 50x or even 100x returns, instantly attracting everyone's attention.
But you should know that those 50x to 100x opportunities are not accidental. If you also want to obtain similar super-high returns, you need to lay the groundwork in advance. You need a clear investment logic and patiently wait for the right moment before others discover it.
If you enter the market now, you may still be able to get a 5x to 10x return - which is already quite good, but it is still far behind the 50x to 100x returns of early participants. In hindsight, everything seems so simple, doesn't it?
So, is it too late now?
No, but you need to be more strategic. The projects that were considered "Alpha" (leading opportunities) two months ago are no longer Alpha. Virtuals' ecosystem has become crowded now, and those easily pickable "ripe fruits" have already been snatched up.
What to do next?
First, do not limit yourself to a single ecosystem. Whether it's Base or Solana, whether it's Virtuals or ai16z, each ecosystem has opportunities worth exploring.
This is not a "team up" game, you don't need to support one ecosystem while disparaging another. Instead, you should look for opportunities wherever there is potential.
For example, I focus on multiple ecosystems such as Base and Solana to find investment opportunities in agents. Although I have a certain preference for Virtuals (often tweeting in support of them), I always keep an open mind.
The key is to be flexible, seek real value, and not get caught up in factional struggles.
How to select an excellent agent?
A successful agent needs to have two core elements: uniqueness and practicality. If it lacks practicality, the agent token will likely be forgotten after a brief speculative frenzy, like most meme coins.
An excellent agent must be able to provide real value, and if the team can master the "art of attracting attention", that will be an extra bonus:
Build an engaging backstory or brand image around the agent.
Quickly and continuously launch new features to maintain innovation capabilities.
Actively listen to and meet the needs and expectations of the community.
When these factors come together, the agent has a chance to achieve product-market fit (PMF). Those teams that can continue to execute and innovate after finding PMF, such as @aixbt_agent, can dominate their niche and become core projects in the entire ecosystem.
The agent narratives and feature sets currently most in focus in the market include:
1. Obtaining and providing Alpha information
There is strong demand for agents that can provide trading signals and insights.

3. On-chain trading: Stories from small capital to great wealth
On-chain trading has always been a hot topic in the Crypto Twitter (CT) community. We not only like to see people turn $1,000 into $1,000,000, but we are also attracted by the fighting spirit they display in the process.
The first batch of on-chain trading agents have seized this enthusiasm. They focus on portfolio growth and real-time display of their trading frameworks and strategies. Although this track is still in the early stages, some promising projects have started to emerge:
@Gekko_Agent: A self-improving trading agent based on Virtuals, using @getaxal's infrastructure to achieve efficient trading.
@BigTonyXBT: Focused on automated trading execution of mainstream assets, based on the Cod3x platform.
@ProjectPlutus_: Known for its interesting ticker $PPCOIN, this agent combines real-time analysis and automated DCA (dollar-cost averaging) strategies. On-chain trading agents are expected to become the market focus in Q1 and Q2 of 2025.
4. Developer tools: Driving ecosystem development
As the AI agent ecosystem expands, the demand for developer tools is becoming increasingly important. Some innovative projects have already started to fill this gap:

5. Privacy and confidentiality: Trusted Execution Environment (TEE)
The Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) technology, first proposed by @marvin_tong and @PhalaNetwork on Solana, provides the possibility for fully autonomous agents.
Some interesting applications and experiments include:
"Rug-proof ICO" smart agent: Avoiding investment fraud through smart contracts.
@aipool_tee and @sporedotfun: Smart agents with genetic traits that can be passed on to offspring.
@deepwormxyz: Experimental project based on neural networks. Currently, the Virtuals platform does not have any TEE smart agents, but the value of the first TEE smart agent is expected to rise rapidly.
6. Get ahead of the future narrative
Predicting the next narrative trend in the market is the key to achieving over 100x returns. This is also the reason why I entered the market when Virtuals' market cap was less than $30 million.

Data-driven smart agents
Gamification of smart agents
Collective/group intelligence
Infrastructure building
