From AI Meme to AI Agent and AI technology framework, the narrative of AI in the Crypto world has been rapidly evolving. Now, people are starting to focus on the next evolution point of the AI narrative, with more attention being paid to specific application narratives, such as DeFAI or AI + gaming. So, what are some AI gaming projects worth our attention?
Parallel Colony
Parallel is a TCG (Collectible Card Game) based on the Base chain, under the Echelon Prime Foundation. In 2021, Parallel completed a $50 million financing round led by Paradigm, with other investors including YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley, Focus Labs, OSS Capital, and Yunt Capital.
Parallel is already available for players to play. In addition to Parallel, the Echelon Prime Foundation is also developing a survival game called Parallel Colony that integrates ERC-6551 technology and allows players to collaborate with AI Agents. Players can assign tasks to AI Agents, and the AI Agents will complete them, communicate with other AI Agents, and provide their own game ideas to the players. The AI Agents will also conduct transactions independently within Parallel Colony.
This game will be open for testing in the first quarter of this year. In addition to Parallel Colony, Parallel has also developed an AI-driven, fully automated trading tool called @AIWayfinder, which has a strong 'All In' AI approach.
Smol Worlds
Smol Worlds Treasure DAO's core PFP project, Smol Brains, is developing an AI game, led by Shaw, who is now a well-known figure in the AI Crypto track and was an early developer in the Treasure DAO ecosystem.
In Smol World, each Smol Brains will be able to act as an AI Agent in on-chain games, where they can steal each other's assets for PvP. The game will be integrated with the Eliza framework.
Eternum
This is an on-chain strategy sandbox game in the Loot(Realms) ecosystem, built on the StarkNet network.
Its founder, @lordOfAFew, has proposed a system called Daydream, which allows AI Agents to play games on-chain. The unique aspect of Daydream is that it does not pre-code the AI to work like a robot, but rather gives the AI autonomous consciousness.
In simple terms, first, the AI does not have the game mechanics "coded" into them by humans, but rather they independently understand the game mechanics and take corresponding actions, even writing their own code. Secondly, if the game mechanics are updated, the AI Agents do not need to be restarted, but can propose merge PRs to the humans to enhance their own capabilities.
In the future Season 1 game, Eternum will inject hundreds of AI Agents into the game through Daydream, serving as PVE or NPC characters, coexisting with players in a competitive game environment.
AI Arena
This is an AI gaming project that we introduced in 2022 (related reading: AI Arena, an NFT AI arena invested by Paradigm).
In AI Arena, NFT game characters will engage in platform fighting games like "Super Smash Bros.", where the winner is the one who knocks the opponent out of the map. The key difference from "Super Smash Bros." is that during the battle, players cannot control their NFT game characters, as all actions are driven by AI.
This game project has now evolved into a larger brand called ARC Agents, aiming to enhance AI's reasoning and adaptability to the real world through research on game AI Agents. ARC Agents announced a strategic partnership with Eliza Labs on January 7th.
Super Champs
The above projects directly integrate AI technology into games, but there are also some chain games that have not directly introduced AI into the game, but rather have proactively approached the market hot spot, as the quality of the games themselves is still quite good.
Super Champs is such a chain game, backed by Joyride Games, which announced a $14 million financing from investors including Coinbase Ventures, Animoca Brands, and Dapper Labs more than two years ago.
They have created an AI that can live-stream and interact with the audience for their own games. In the future, they will train the AI to commentate on other games, and those who want to hire their AI commentator IP will need to use their tokens, which is a self-consistent narrative...
