On January 20, Aave founder Stani Kulechov shared on social media the advantages of Ethereum, including:
1. Highest Security
Ethereum is known for its high security in a programmable execution environment. The most important market is the $25 trillion financial industry.
2. DeFi TVL (Total Value Locked)
DeFi is a market-product fit on-chain. Of the $122 billion total TVL, Ethereum accounts for more than half, nearly 6 times the second-ranked chain.
3. Ecosystem and Development Tools
DeFi protocols require a secure and stable network to support collateral asset products and oracle-based data products. Ethereum's advantage lies in its thriving ecosystem with powerful tools like Hardhat and Foundry.
4. EVM Innovation
The Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) is the most valuable innovation in this ecosystem. There are many competing paths to innovation to provide the best user scalability and security.
5. L2 Strategy (Simultaneously Enhancing Ethereum L1)
Allows L1 to provide Ethereum's highest security while driving innovation on L2. Every major exchange or institution wants to operate their own network with customization and economic incentives.
6. POTUS Deployment on Ethereum
The Aave deployment by WLF will be executed on the Ethereum mainnet. DeFi innovation with WLF will follow. This is where the core elements of POTUS take place.
7. Institutional Deployment on Ethereum
Ethereum provides the highest security and stability to issue assets like RWAs, while also being the hub for all DeFi network effects.
8. Talented Workforce
Most talented smart contract developers write in Solidity on Ethereum. This is why the largest protocols operate on Ethereum and have maintained for years. This also explains why Ethereum development tools lead other ecosystems, and the entire ecosystem is more mature.
Stani concluded: "Chains have plenty of short-term opportunities (very risky), but in the long run, the fundamental factors are the most important. Ecosystems focused on fundamentals and users will have the highest adoption. The appreciation of ETH is just a matter of time, but when it does happen, it will be a grand comeback."
