According to a report by cryptonews, a new survey conducted by financial services provider Vyberu shows that more than one-fifth of Russian respondents have traded or held Meme coins. The survey involved 3,000 Russians aged 18 to 60.
The survey also found that 15% of respondents said they bought Meme coins due to the influence of "hype". Additionally, 4% of respondents said they bought Meme coins to "make a quick profit". 2% of respondents also said they invested in these coins to "support the project creators".
Most of those who said they had bought Meme coins expressed the belief that Meme coins have good "growth potential", and 23% of token buyers said they were attracted to the "cultural or satirical aspect" of Meme coins.
6% of respondents were attracted by the active community and "fan base" of Meme coins. Additionally, a quarter of respondents believe that issuing Meme coins is an "effective marketing move". However, nearly half of respondents believe that Meme coins are a "temporary phenomenon" and a social media trend.
