To seize more money-making opportunities than others, in addition to constantly paying attention to the current hot topics, you also need to actively seek out potential areas. In November 2024, Binance founder CZ posted that he attended a DeSci (Decentralized Science) meetup, and Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin also attended this offline event.
So what is DeSci? It is "Decentralized Science" in Chinese. For those who don't know about DeSci, you can first read this article: What is Decentralized Science? Will it accelerate the arrival of clones?
The risk investment department of Binance, the world's largest exchange, Binance Labs, also announced an investment in the DeSci project BIO Protocol in that month, and even listed the BIO token on its platform in the first quarter of this year. This also makes people start to wonder, will the next hot track be DeSci?
So what projects are there in DeSci and what are they doing respectively? Let's introduce three DeSci projects for you!
BIO Protocol
BIO Protocol is a decentralized science protocol. In simpler terms, you can think of it as a crowdfunding platform focused on science. Scientists, medical teams, or anyone can apply to establish a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) for their projects on the BIO Protocol. If the application is approved, they can become a project under the BIO ecosystem, tokenize their plans and intellectual property rights (such as issuing tokens or establishing Non-Fungible Tokens) through the platform, and allow professionals from all over the world to participate in the research and development of the project.

BIO has also been listed on Binance at the beginning of the year with the support of Binance, and is currently the leader in the DeSci track, with a market capitalization once exceeding $1 billion. Under the BIO ecosystem, there is also a project introduced by V-God, VitaDAO, which focuses on longevity, and the cryptocurrency data platform CoinGecko shows that $VITA was once one of the top five cryptocurrencies in the DeSci market capitalization.

Pump.Science
Pump.Science is a platform that combines cryptocurrency and scientific research. The project tokens are issued on the meme coin platform, allowing you not only to invest, but also to participate in real scientific experiments!
Its operation is very interesting. By issuing meme coins on Pump.fun with a focus on specific drugs, players can buy and sell these tokens to support related research. When the token market value reaches a certain target, the platform will initiate drug experiments and regularly publish the experimental results, so that everyone can understand the actual effects of the drugs. The experimental theme is about "life extension", and different organisms are used for experiments at each stage, currently including worms, fruit flies, and mice.

At the current stage, there are only two token projects on the Pump.Science platform, $RIF (Rifampicin, an antibiotic) and $URO (Urolithin A, an organic compound), and holders of these two coins can also receive airdrops of $BIO.

ResearchHub
ResearchHub was launched in 2020, aiming to improve research efficiency and shorten the time from idea to experimental results, promoting scientific progress through open and collaborative methods, and hoping to become the "GitHub" of the scientific community. On the ResearchHub platform, not only can researchers publish and share research results, but it also provides a discussion area like "Yahoo! Answers" or "Reddit", allowing the academic community and the public to collaborate and discuss various research issues. All content is free and open, without any barriers to knowledge dissemination due to payment.
The platform uses the ResearchCoin ($RSC) token as a reward mechanism to encourage users to participate in community building through sharing, liking, discussing, and planning research. Authors can also set bounty rewards to attract others to contribute their wisdom or help solve problems. Each research field has a dedicated "Hub" (similar to the board classification on Dcard), and popular content will be prioritized at the top, allowing important research to be seen quickly.

ResearchHub received the support of Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong shortly after its launch. In addition, the well-known scientific journal "Nature" published a paid article on ResearchHub, emphasizing its innovative peer review reward mechanism, which allows researchers to be compensated for their reviews.
Here is the English translation:This is an introduction to the three Desci projects. I wonder if everyone has a deeper understanding of Desci or has developed some interest in it? Although Desci has the support of CZ and V, the key to whether the Desci track can attract attention is whether it can solve the difficulties and challenges it faces in the future.
