Base launches Flashblocks and three other building blocks

The Base team has launched three building modules, including Flashblocks, Base Appchains, and Smart Wallet Sub Accounts, aimed at improving the efficiency and experience of on-chain applications. Flashblocks technology shortens the effective block time, accelerating block confirmation speed, and has already been launched on the Base Sepolia testnet, with plans to deploy it on the mainnet in Q2 2025. Base Appchains are L3 chains based on Base, supported by the op-enclave framework, which help applications scale through dedicated block space. Smart Wallet Sub Accounts simplify the user experience, reduce wallet pop-ups, enhance security, and eliminate the need for manual management of different on-chain accounts. This feature has already been launched on the Base testnet and is planned to be deployed on the mainnet in Q2 2025.
