Cronos' plan to re-issue 70 billion destroyed tokens was met with massive community opposition, with an opposition rate of 95.7%

Odaily reported that the Mintscan governance voting page shows that the Cronos community strongly opposes the proposal to re-issue 70 billion destroyed CRO tokens, with a 95.7% rejection rate. Yesterday, Crypto.com's companion public chain project Cronos stated that 70 billion CRO tokens were burned in 2021, and now proposes to re-issue an equivalent amount of tokens on the Cronos POS, depositing them into the Cronos strategic reserve custody wallet to restore the total supply to the original 100 billion, in order to support the "Cronos strategic reserve". The CRO in the strategic reserve custody wallet will have an additional 5-year unlock period after the initial 5 years, making the total unlock period 10 years, with monthly linear release.
