Recently, a new fraud method has appeared on the Telegram messaging app. Users have received messages from friends saying "Your TG has been marked as fraud". From the screenshots of the friends, they can see that their own Telegram chat window has been marked with a red "fraud" label. However, this is the beginning of a scam. When you start to worry, "your friend" will ask you to use a Telegram Bot called "SpnzonBot" to solve the problem. However, "SpnzonBot" is actually a malicious bot, pretending to be the official "Spam Info Bot" to do harm.
This fraud activity has three steps:
- The trusted friend's account has been hacked
- Your account screenshot shows "fraud"
- The hacked friend provides a malicious bot
If this happens, you can try to contact the friend on another platform to confirm if the message is really from them.
In the second step, you can also see the "Nicegram" logo above your name in the screenshot. Nicegram is an unofficial Telegram app that allows you to switch between unlimited accounts on a single device. This is another evidence that a fraud group is controlling a large number of Telegram accounts.
When you encounter an unfamiliar Telegram Bot, do not easily connect your wallet or provide more personal information, in order to avoid fraud risks.
