PANews reported on March 18 that, according to TechCrunch, Graphite, an AI-powered code review platform backed by Anthropic, announced the completion of a $52 million Series B funding round. The round was led by Accel, with participation from Anthropic's Anthology Fund, Menlo Ventures, Shopify Ventures, Figma Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, and The General Partnership.
Graphite was founded in 2020 by Tomas Reimers, Greg Foster, and Merrill Lutsky, initially focusing on mobile development tools before pivoting to AI-driven code review. The platform leverages models from Anthropic and OpenAI to provide code feedback, error detection, and automated code fixes. Currently, Graphite serves over 500 companies, including Shopify, Snowflake, Figma, and Perplexity, with a 20-fold revenue growth projected for 2024. Additionally, Graphite is launching a new product, Diamond, aimed at automatically capturing code errors. Following this funding round, Graphite has raised a total of $81 million, which will be used for product development and team expansion.
