ZachXBT has just posted an investigation revealing the identity of a mysterious Hyperliquid whale. This whale is said to have earned around $20 million from x40, x50 Longing transactions in just a few weeks, drawing the attention of the community.
The key points of ZachXBT's investigation can be summarized as follows:
- A trader with the wallet address 0xf3f has participated in numerous Longing transactions on Hyperliquid and GMX from January to March 2025. Notably, the whale opened a long position on ETH and BTC with 50x Longing just before President Trump announced the crypto reserve, thereby earning a large amount of money.
- ZachXBT has found a connection between the 0xf3f wallet and exchanges like Roobet and Binance. Furthermore, this account had previously claimed to have earned $20 million from GMX and Hyperliquid, although the subsequent posts have been deleted.
- The investigation found that the X (formerly Twitter) account related to the 0xf3f wallet appears to have been acquired, with signs of fraudulent activities, including links to phishing sites managed by @CryptxxCatalyst.
- The 0xf3f wallet is also associated with drainer fees from a fraudulent site called projection[.]fi in January 2025. Additionally, the funds of this wallet came from withdrawal transactions from a casino on Solana, related to a vulnerability in the game system.
- In the investigation, ZachXBT traced the wallet to another account linked to a UK phone number. According to public records, this number is associated with William Parker.
- ZachXBT has revealed more information about William Parker (WP), a figure with a notorious past. WP, previously known as Alistair Packover (or William Peckover), gained attention in the UK in the early 2010s with fraud allegations related to hacking and gambling. Last year, WP was arrested for stealing around $1 million from two casinos and was sentenced in Finland.
- In January 2025, WP exploited a vulnerability in a casino game and carried out phishing fraud, then used the six-figure sum to engage in high Longing transactions on the chain, turning it into $20 million. Currently, this money is mainly held in the 0x51d99A4022a55CAd07a3c958F0600d8bb0B39921 wallet.
