PANews reported on March 24 that according to The Block, developer Gunboats has ported the Ethereum privacy protocol Tornado Cash to the public test network of the emerging high-performance blockchain MegaETH, which claims to process 20,000 transactions per second. The new contract is named ETHTornado, and currently lacks a front-end interface with low actual usage. Gunboats stated that this porting was mainly done with a "half-joking" motivation and claimed that the operation did not require code changes.

Previously, the US Treasury had removed Tornado Cash and its related addresses from the OFAC sanctions list.
