According to Foresight News, a report by security company CertiK reveals that 197 attacks occurred in the Web3 domain during the first quarter of 2025, resulting in asset losses of approximately $1.67 billion, a staggering 303.4% increase from the previous quarter. Among these, a single security incident at Bybit exchange resulted in losses of $1.45 billion, accounting for 90% of the quarterly total. Of particular concern are the emerging threats of private key leakage events (15 incidents/$140 million) and high-frequency phishing attacks (81 incidents/$16 million), with hackers breaching defenses through social engineering techniques such as deep fakes, AI impersonation, and malicious dApps.
