According to ChainCatcher, the Washington Post reported on April 7th, citing two sources, that over the weekend, Elon Musk, the head of a U.S. government efficiency department and the world's richest person, directly urged President Trump to revoke the new tariff policy.
The report stated that Musk's attempt was unsuccessful. Trump said on the 7th that he would not suspend the so-called "reciprocal tariffs" policy. After meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu at the White House that day, Trump told the media that he currently has no plans to suspend the tariff policy, and many economic leaders are seeking to negotiate with him. He believes that enforcing tariff policies and engaging in negotiations are not contradictory.
