
PANews reported on April 17 that according to Bloomberg, Global Payments is acquiring all shares of payment giant Worldpay for $24.25 billion, with 45% coming from FIS and 55% from private equity firm GTCR. As part of the transaction, FIS will acquire Global Payments' issuing solutions business, with an enterprise valuation of $13.5 billion. GTCR will complete the sale with 59% cash and 41% stock consideration, and will hold 15% of Global Payments' shares after the merger, continuing to participate in future strategic development. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026.
