As of April 18 (local time), large-scale options for Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) have expired. According to cryptocurrency data provider WuBlockchain, with the expiration of 23,000 Bitcoin options, the put/call ratio was 0.96, and the maximum pain point was calculated at $82,000. The total nominal value was approximately $1.97 billion.
On the same day, 177,000 Ethereum options expired, with a put/call ratio of 0.84 and a maximum pain point of $1,600. The nominal value of Ethereum options reached approximately $280 million.
Option expiration dates are one of the factors that increase market liquidity and price volatility, and investors are known to adjust their position profits and losses based on the maximum pain point.
