I used to leave profits on the table, be scared to execute my strategy, and miss easy trades worth 6Figs+
Then I made ONE major change that removed all the confusion & turned missed profits into real money.
Here's what I did (Copy me):
My problem was not my strategy.
It was my inability to execute it consistently.
My journal already showed I was profitable, but I couldn't manage positions and consistently take high-quality trades
This meant KNOWING what I needed to do and STILL not making as much as I could
I used my journal to find 3 key problems;
1. Taking profits too early
2. Using hope as a strategy
3. Trading when I should stay out
Here's how I fixed all 3:
1. Reward Run-Off
After finding that I was consistently leaving 2- 3R on the table when HTF structure aligned with my bias,
I slowly started increasing my target R in 0.1-0.3 increments (guided strictly by my journal)
This meant my overall reward improved but risk stayed same
2. Cut statistical losers
I checked my journal: Losing trades usually lasted a similar amount of time (on average).
So I decided to start cutting any trade that looked like an average loser.
This saved me 0.7–0.8R per exit and removed hesitation from cutting losers early.
3. No forcing trades
Forcing trades killed my edge. So I set no-trade zones.
These were areas where price had a low probability of trending hard.
Using this rule allowed me to only trade when conditions perfectly met my plan.
Most traders never fix these problems because they don’t track them.
I didn’t need to change my edge but simply needed to refine it through data.
Journaling showed me exactly where to look and how to stop leaving "easy" money on the table.
