PANews reported on May 6th that BNB Chain recently released a new open protocol called Model Context Protocol (MCP), which provides standardized support for establishing secure, bidirectional communication between AI applications and external data or tool systems, marking a critical step towards plug-and-play integration of AI agents in the Web3 domain.
As part of BNB Chain's "AI First" strategy, the MCP protocol can connect blockchain data with AI models through standardized interfaces, helping developers build more intelligent, context-aware applications. Developers no longer need to construct custom interfaces for each tool or dataset, but can instead connect to this security standard framework designed for Web3 and AI collaborative development, focusing on development in their own domains.
The core advantages of MCP include: data privacy protection; on-chain interaction auditability; model protection and encryption mechanisms; support for AML/KYC compliance.
This release also echoes other BNB Chain AI First themes, such as the ongoing global BNB AI Hackathon, official AI Agent solutions that provide developers with toolkits and launch support, which can accelerate project development through the AI Fast Track Program, as well as MVB for mature projects.
