THE STATE OF ONCHAIN UX

In 2025, one thing is clear:

The next wave of crypto adoption will be driven by better UX.

But you can’t fix what you don’t understand - fortunately, Reown just gave us one of the clearest looks yet at how people are actually using crypto.

As the team behind WalletConnect, Reown has been defining onchain UX since 2018.

Their latest report, The State of Onchain UX, is a comprehensive deep dive into wallet behavior, user preferences, and evolving on-chain trends.

Here are some key findings:

  • Most users use multiple wallets, mostly due to liquidity fragmentation, interoperability issues, and security concerns

  • Mobile wallets dominate, but hardware wallets are surging in popularity

  • Stablecoins are seeing a massive increase in adoption, with their ownership being up from 20% to 37% in the last year

  • Ethereum has matured into a settlement layer, Solana is leading in high-frequency trading, and Base is capturing experimental builders

If you’re building an on-chain app, this report is a must-read. It’ll help you spot what are the main UX issues - and what users actually want next.

🛠️A tool for tracking DeFi fundamentals

If you invest based on fundamentals, Token Terminal is a must-use platform.

This tool can be seen as a financial data aggregator for blockchains and dApps. Using it, you can find a lot of interesting data for every major dApp:

  • Fees

  • Revenue

  • Expenses

  • Net earnings

  • Total Value Locked

  • Trading volume for DEXs and active loans for money markets

  • Total token holders and active users

…. and much more

In addition to this, Token Terminal also has a section called “Market Sectors” which shows the top projects in each category and how they compare.
