Australian police seized assets related to hacking case, including 25 BTC and seaside mansion

Planet Daily News: On May 18, the Australian Federal Police (AFP) announced the seizure of 25 bitcoins (currently valued at approximately $2.62 million), a beachfront mansion, and a Mercedes-Benz car, with a total value of 4.5 million Australian dollars (about $2.88 million). According to the investigation, these assets may be related to a 2013 case involving the theft of 950 bitcoins from a French exchange. The suspect, Shane Stephen Duffy, had previously admitted to a hacking crime in 2016 involving the sale of League of Legends player data. The AFP exercised special powers under the Criminal Proceeds Act and obtained these assets through a court forfeiture order without criminal charges.
