SlowMist CISO: Beware of the "Withdrawal Verification Code" scam, victims have lost $1.1 million

Victims claimed to have received a text message from a certain trading platform stating, "Your verification code is 819121, used for withdrawal. If you did not request this verification code, please call 0330 027 1814 to contact us." After calling back, victims encountered a professional scam. The scammer explained that this was a security vulnerability and claimed they would notify other cryptocurrency verification companies to implement security restrictions, promising to investigate and call back soon. A few minutes later, victims received a call from 'Ledger' claiming there were security issues. They professionally assisted the victims, guiding them to a phishing website, resulting in a loss of $1.1 million.
