According to ChainCatcher, blockchain security analysis institution PeckShield monitored approximately 20 major cryptocurrency security incidents in May 2025, resulting in a total loss of $244.1 million, a 39.29% decrease compared to the previous period.
Among these, the Cetus protocol suffered a $220 million attack, which was the largest event of the month. Currently, Cetus protocol and SUI have successfully frozen $157 million of stolen funds, with the remaining $63 million still in the attacker's wallet. Other significant incidents include a $12 million attack on the Cork protocol, a suspected North Korea-related hacking incident causing $5.2 million in losses, and individual token losses of $2.2 million for MBU token and $1.2 million for MaplestoryU.
