According to ChainCatcher and Cointelegraph, Czech Minister of Justice Pavel Blazek resigned on May 30 amid controversy over his department's sale of BTC donated by a convicted criminal.
The Ministry of Justice previously announced on platform X that it had obtained approximately 1 billion Czech koruna (about $45 million) by auctioning nearly 500 BTC. Subsequently, Czech news media Denik N discovered that these BTC originated from Tomas Jirikovsky, the convicted operator of the Dark Web platform Sheep Marketplace.
In March, Jirikovsky's lawyer proposed donating one-third of the BTC to Blazek, who accepted the donation without thoroughly investigating the source of funds. The police are currently investigating the origin of these BTC.
