OpenSea, which has experienced multiple bull and bear markets and witnessed narrative changes, is finally issuing a token. On May 30, OpenSea's Official Twitter announced on the X platform that the OpenSea 2 (OS2) platform has ended its testing phase and is now open to the public, introducing a new reward system called "Voyages" where users can earn XP points by completing basic on-chain transactions. Additionally, CMO Adam Hollander revealed that the SEA token will undergo TGE after completing a series of product updates, but no specific timeline has been announced.
Below, Odaily will analyze the latest OpenSea 2 token incentive system, how to interact, and the community's sentiment towards the Non-Fungible Token track.
OS2 New Reward System
OpenSea was once the "absolute king" of Non-Fungible Token trading platforms. Data shows that in March 2021, OpenSea's trading volume first broke through $100 million, reached over $300 million in July, and in August, the figure grew by more than 10 times to $3.44 billion. It was also in March of that year that OpenSea completed a funding round led by a16z for $23 million, with many angel investors including Mark Cuban participating.
Years later, OpenSea is setting out again, attempting to regain market attention through the "OS2" upgrade, reconstructing its technology and experience. OS2 is not a simple iteration but the technological and experiential foundation of the next-generation OpenSea. As an important part of this upgrade, OpenSea simultaneously launched a new user incentive mechanism. Users can earn XP (experience) points by completing operations such as creating Non-Fungible Token display pages, cross-chain transactions, and batch purchases. These points can be used to exchange OpenSea's upcoming native token—SEA.
According to OpenSea's Chief Marketing Officer Adam Hollander's long post on the X platform, while no clear token launch time was given, he clarified several factors affecting token airdrop:
Previous participation in activities will be rewarded but separated from this reward;
Although no leaderboard is set, earning XP points is important, and tasks related to token interaction are worth focusing on;
Users can see their loyalty percentage on the reward panel, which will play a crucial role in token airdrop rewards;
Severely punish machine number XP point farming, and token airdrop rewards will be canceled upon discovery.

XP tasks on OpenSea will be continuously updated and are all time-limited. Currently, there are 4 tasks, and according to community member feedback, interaction lag issues have been resolved and are worth completing quickly.
Tasks mainly involve token Swap or NFT scanning on various chains, requiring only a single interaction over $5, which is simple to do. Since everyone is buying and selling tokens or Non-Fungible Tokens to complete tasks, do not "hoard", choose projects with relatively good liquidity, and quickly sell the interacted tokens and Non-Fungible Tokens after completing the specified tasks.

Interaction Worth Participating, But Think Twice Before Buying Tokens
In the current low ebb of the Non-Fungible Token track, few truly believe that OpenSea's token issuance can bring a "second rise", let alone reshape the Non-Fungible Token market's future. More people tend to believe that OpenSea is here to squeeze the last bit of liquidity from the Non-Fungible Token track.
The Non-Fungible Token ecosystem is now a stagnant pool. On one hand, the previously top trading platforms have collectively fallen silent: Blur's topic has sharply declined, barely mentioned; LooksRare's official account has only updated one tweet this year; X2Y2 even announced the official closure of its trading platform on April 30. On the other hand, most blue-chip Non-Fungible Token projects have fallen into silence, with Pudgy Penguins being a rare exception still maintaining community heat, while Azuki and Doodles have had almost no subsequent actions after token issuance.
In such a market environment, although OpenSea's interaction tasks are low-cost and time-short, they are still worth participating in to "grab some wool". However, one must be extra cautious about whether to buy tokens after opening. After all, the current market sentiment is weak, and even previously hot sectors like meme and AI Agent have clearly cooled down.
