Reuters: Coinbase and Gemini expected to obtain EU licenses from Malta and Luxembourg

According to Reuters, Gemini and Coinbase, two major cryptocurrency companies, are expected to receive EU licenses from Malta and Luxembourg respectively, enabling them to operate across the 27 EU countries under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) that came into effect this year. Malta has previously quickly approved OKX and Crypto.com, raising concerns among regulatory authorities of other member states about its approval speed and regulatory capabilities. ESMA is reviewing Malta's licensing process and plans to publish a related report.
