June 25, 2025 - Taiko, the first Based Rollup project on Ethereum, will host the "Based Rollup Summit" in Cannes, France on July 1st, inviting core researchers, developers, and project teams from the Ethereum ecosystem to explore the best future path for Ethereum scaling.
The summit will gather several heavyweight guests, including Ethereum researcher Justin Drake, Ethereum Foundation co-lead Tomasz Stańczak, and Celo Labs founder Marek Olszwekski.
"Currently, Ethereum's rollup-centric roadmap has become increasingly mature, and building a powerful and decentralized infrastructure has become more critical than ever," said Joaquin Mendes, Taiko's Chief Operating Officer.
Following Taiko's successful first summit in San Francisco earlier this year, the Cannes station is expected to attract over 600 developers, researchers, and protocol builders from the Ethereum ecosystem.
At the event, multiple top Ethereum-related projects will delve into the sequencer design of Based Rollup, preconfirmation mechanisms, and how the Ethereum mainnet will position its future role in the context of Layer 2's continuous development.
The summit's speaker lineup includes projects such as Gattaca, ETHGas, SSV Network, OpenZeppelin, Avail, Nethermind, Luban, SNZ, Fabric/Commit Boost, Hashed, Starkware, Self, Boundless (Risc0), and Zerobase.
Participants will explore the latest trends in the Based Rollup ecosystem, focusing particularly on Taiko's preconfirmation mechanism research and implementation. For developers attending EthCC, this is an opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of Based Rollup scaling solutions and the deeper evolution of Ethereum technology.
As Rollup evolves from a simple L2 scaling solution to a programmable, sovereign infrastructure layer, the Based Rollup Summit is becoming a key activity node in Ethereum's development process. This not only brings thought collisions and collaboration but is also about jointly building the future.
