ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, Pakistan's National Minister of Cryptocurrency and Blockchain, Bilal Bin Saqib, stated that the country's demographic structure will drive Bitcoin adoption to achieve "leapfrog development," surpassing developed countries.
Bilal Bin Saqib pointed out that Pakistan has 40 million crypto wallets, making it one of the top five countries in cryptocurrency adoption. The country's median age is 20 years old, with a total population of 250 million, of which 70% are under 30 years old. He said: "Emerging markets will achieve leapfrog development in the adoption of these new technologies, and smaller countries are more likely to adopt Bitcoin."
Previously, Pakistan and El Salvador signed a memorandum of understanding in July to share knowledge in Bitcoin education, digital asset infrastructure, and crypto mining energy development. Pakistan plans to use up to 10,000 megawatts of surplus electricity for Bitcoin mining, with 2,000 megawatts allocated to Bitcoin mining and AI data centers.
