According to ChainCatcher, as disclosed by PeckShield, 17 major cryptocurrency security incidents occurred in July 2025, with total losses reaching $142 million, a 27.2% increase from $111.6 million in June. Notably, the GMX hackers have returned approximately $40.5 million in crypto assets.
The top five security incidents in July were: cryptocurrency exchange CoinDCX lost $44.2 million, decentralized exchange GMX lost $42 million (recovered), BigONE exchange lost $28 million, WOOX lost $12 million, and Future Protocol lost $4.2 million.
