ToggleOndo Finance and Ondo Foundation have officially launched the Ondo Global Markets platform, allowing investors in the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, Africa and Latin America to trade over 100 US stocks and ETFs as crypto assets. This number is expected to expand to over 1,000 assets by the end of 2025.
Ondo Global Markets’ highlight is that it offers the ability to buy and sell crypto-US stocks 24/7 , instead of being limited to traditional trading hours on the NYSE or NASDAQ. These crypto-assets are backed by real stocks and ETFs, custodians at US-registered brokerage firms, giving investors peace of mind about transparency and safety.
The Ondo Global Markets Difference
While many existing crypto trading platforms have limited liquidation and transferability, Ondo aims for maximum flexibility . Investors can easily transfer assets between wallets, exchanges, or DeFi protocols, while also leveraging liquidation from traditional stock markets.
“We’ve seen stablecoins put the US dollar on the blockchain. Now, Ondo Global Markets is doing the same with US stocks,” said Nathan Allman, founder and CEO of Ondo Finance.
In addition to Ethereum, the platform will soon expand to BNB Chain and Solana , with chain connectivity technology powered by LayerZero .
Large partners and strong integration
Upon launch, Ondo has received support from many industry names such as OKX Wallet, Trust Wallet, Bitget, Ledger, BitGo, Gate, Chainlink, and 1INCH . Notably, 1INCH has upgraded its trading API to make it easier for investors to access crypto stocks right in their wallets and dApps.
Not only that, Ondo also partnered with Block Street , a startup building a common liquidation layer for crypto stocks. Block Street aims to provide solutions for borrowing - lending, hedging and shorting stocks right in DeFi. In the testing phase alone, the project has attracted more than 200,000 users.
Fierce Competition in Crypto Securities
Ondo is not the only name racing in this area. Kraken, Backed, Bybit, Gate and Robinhood have also launched similar products. Notably, Robinhood has just brought more than 200 crypto-US stocks to Arbitrum for European investors, while Coinbase is seeking SEC approval to launch in the US.
Experts say the trend of tokenized financial assets is moving from experimentation to large-scale implementation. McKinsey's latest report estimates that even excluding stablecoins, the crypto asset market could reach $2 trillion by 2030 .
