Airdrop season is heating up again. We’ve had several big drops in the past few weeks and a lot of teams have announced their TGE date for Q4 this year, so it should be an explosive few months ahead.
If you’re new to airdrops or want to read a comprehensive guide, then I refer you to the one I wrote earlier this year:
I covered all the basics and my general philosophy for making good money on airdrops, the tldr version being:
be a curious and open-minded blockchain enthusiast and genuinely try lots of different things
I also shared a list of 10 airdrops I felt were worth paying attention to back then. Today I share an updated list with even more airdrops.
I maintain that the best way to win big on airdrops is do your own deep research and find these protocols yourself — you’ll generally be a lot earlier to them, and will find them before people like me are writing posts about them.
But for the time poor (or the lazy), I have done that research for you, and share my findings below. I broke them down into the following categories:
Miscellaneous
Prediction Markets
InfoFi
Crypto Wallets
Perp Dexes
HyperEVM
Layer 2s
I’ll end by sharing what I personally am farming and how I spend my time each week.
1. Miscellaneous: Solstice, Opensea, Yeet, Ethos
Solstice
What is it?
A new protocol recently launched on Solana, Solstice is mirroring the very successful Ethena playbook: a stablecoin that generates yield by employing delta-neutral strategies.
What’s the bull case?
Ethena is one of the biggest successes of this cycle, and this is basically that but on Solana. They’ve hit over 10,000 holders in 5 days and almost $200m TVL. I don’t expect this to slow down any time soon. TGE is expected before the end of year.
How do you farm it?
Head to the app and connect your wallet, and click on “Get Started”. Follow the prompts to convert some USDC or USDT → USX, and then lock that in the Yield Vault to start earning yield on it.
Then head to “Earn Flares” and work your way through the quests. Two partner codes you can add are ORCA and RAYDIUM for a 1.3x boost each, and my referral code will give you a 10% boost as well: SpsFQHXMEm.
Lastly, supply a little bit of liquidity to the Orca and Raydium pools to get an even greater multiplier.
I think this is a great place to park some stables until the end of the year.
OpenSea
What is it?
I would hope you know about OpenSea if you read my newsletter, but just in case, they’re the largest NFT marketplace and were the first to market in 2017. I wrote about OpenSea in my airdrop guide back in April, and I still think they’re going to be one of the best airdrops this cycle.
What’s the bull case?
OpenSea has done a stellar job of clawing back marketshare and have consistently generated revenue since launching in 2017. Their marketshare was as low as 10% last year, and they are back at over 60% now, edging out their competitors.
Understandably some of this volume is in anticipation of the airdrop, but I believe their product has been improving too. They’ve made some great hires and even an acquisition this year that makes me a lot more bullish on their ability to execute compared to 2021/2022 when it felt like they were a bit out of their depth.
How do you farm it?
They’re currently running what they call their “final stage before TGE” which is basically a rewards program that incentivizes volume. They charge 0.85% fees on token swaps and 1% on NFT sales, so you’re definitely losing some money by purely trading for trading’s sake, but if you’re already planning on selling some NFTs or swapping some tokens, it’s probably worth it to put some volume through on OS.
They’ll be giving back 50% of the fees earned as rewards to those who participate, and presumably will give a larger airdrop to those with more volume too.
Yeet
What is it?
Yeet is a crypto native online casino. Founded by KeyboardMonkey, Mando, and BenLamb, they have the backing of some industry heavyweights.
What’s the bull case?
The online gambling business is incredibly lucrative, albeit notoriously difficult to break into. Yeet stands a strong chance in my mind at succeeding given that they launched six months ago and have already done over $600m in volume. Similar airdrops have done very well in the past (ie Shuffle).
How do you farm it?
You farm Yeet points by turning over volume on the platform. Look for games that have a RTP (return to player) of 99%, meaning that the house edge is only 1%, like Limbo. Yes, you’re gambling, and yes, you’ll lose money in the long run — but the volatility should be fairly low with that low of a house edge, you’ll earn airdrop points, and you’ll also earn rewards along the way to reduce that loss.
They’ve announced that 40% of the token supply is going to the community and my bet is that if you do $100k in volume therefore losing $1k (on average), your airdrop will be worth a lot more than $1k.
Bonus: keep an eye out on their X account for announcements for when they do “double airdrop points” promotions as a way to boost your way up the leaderboard and make your $$ go further.
Ethos
What is it?
