This is without question one of the best things I’ve ever listened to, not this year not last year - but ever: open.spotify.com/episode/29hWF...… Absolutely superb. And @PeterMcCormack explains so neatly the same realisation I came to as a long term one-nation conservative who since leaving university and getting a job in financial services became more of an Austrian school Libertarian-leaning Thatcherite/Tory; but have since become totally compelled, through logic and pragmatism and a willingness to change my opinion when faced with better data or new high quality information, to adopt a more Benthamite communitarian mindset toward political reform. This episode with @profplum99 hits all the right notes over and over and over again, and synthesises interconnected, but at first glance - ostensibly disparate, points to support the core argument, in a way I don’t think I’ve ever seen before. If you watch only one podcast episode this year make it this one (then, read his Substack).
