A South Korean court has confirmed that the head of a virtual asset exchange was guilty of accepting approximately 920 million won in crypto assets from suspected North Korean hackers.

According to the Dong-A Ilbo, South Korea's Supreme Court has confirmed that the head of a virtual asset exchange was sentenced to four years in prison and suspended from his position for four years for accepting approximately 920 million won in crypto assets from suspected North Korean hackers and assisting in accessing military secrets by serving military officers. The military officer involved was sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined for leaking secrets. The report states that the hackers are suspected of belonging to North Korea's Reconnaissance General Bureau's "Research Institute No. 110."
