ChainCatcher reports that Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has responded to an open letter sent to Base by some community members. A key point in the letter is that Base seems increasingly inclined to promote creator tokens within a framework of creator economy rather than on-chain economy.
Brian Armstrong stated that the Base chain has a wide range of uses and is suitable for various application scenarios: payments, transactions, DeFi, building applications/companies, and more. Our goal is to ensure that every developer on Base receives a share of the revenue. I believe social dynamics are crucial for content distribution—whether for emerging applications/enterprises/developers, investments, prediction markets, social trading features, alpha/insights, and more. Cryptocurrency is a good ranking metric, and because there is real value exchange involved (unlike bot farms commonly found in traditional social media), it is harder to fake.
Therefore, I believe the feed is important, especially with native cryptocurrency-based like functionality. However, it's currently impossible to determine which type of content will ultimately perform best in the feed. We'll only know after publishing and collecting data. User interaction within the app is a crucial metric for iteration.
