Shandong police have cracked multiple related cases and arrested several suspects. Investigations revealed that the criminals used overseas communication software to contact their superiors and settled their proceeds through virtual currency, making the scam highly covert. Police warn the public that this type of scam is highly deceptive; the public should be vigilant, avoid scanning QR codes from unknown sources, and refrain from disclosing personal information to unfamiliar platforms to prevent financial losses.
