Today, some friends were having dinner at a Chinese restaurant in New York, and one friend said his mother was from Vance's hometown of Appalachian, which is nothing like the description in the book; it's a working-class area with many German immigrants. This book, about family background and social issues, has become a kind of political capital, more like a novel. I've recently become fascinated with autobiographies and am really looking forward to a book by Binance founder CZ.
