Solana 's official mobile phone brand, Seeker, announced today a week-long 50% off Seeker phones promotion, provided that they are purchased using SKR tokens. The official statement also included a caveat: all SKR tokens used to purchase Seeker phones will be returned to a future airdrop pool, effectively giving them back to the users, which has sparked heated discussions in the community.
How do I activate the half-price discount?
According to our tests, during the promotion period, as long as you click "order" on the official website homepage and enter your address (English only), phone number, and confirm the shipping fee (free in Taiwan), and finally select "Solana Pay" as the payment method and "SKR" as the payment token, you will see a message that the payment price is halved.
Taking Taiwan as an example, the final payment price will be around US$262 (approximately NT$7,900), which will amount to approximately 9,800 to 10,500 SKRs by the time of writing.

SKR shares surged after the announcement.
Besides the half-price Seeker tokens, the official's unusual move has also sparked heated discussions. It's as if the official team is going to reclaim the airdrops in a special way and lock them up for a period of time. However, the official team also promised that all the reclaimed SKR tokens will not be dumped, but will be put into the future airdrop prize pool.
After the news was announced, the SKR token, which had started to fall, suddenly rebounded, rising to a high of $0.031, a single-day increase of 31%, which can be described as a miraculous operation.
However, this strange operation raises suspicions. Is it a clearance sale for the upcoming Seeker 2? If this is used as the standard for airdrops in the future, will it indirectly encourage (or force) users to upgrade their phones or promote the Solana ecosystem to their friends during each mobile phone promotion and new phone launch?
After each airdrop, there are big promotions and pre-orders for new devices. In fact, this may effectively recover some of the airdrop tokens back into the ecosystem and promote the device to a wider audience. However, in reality, the users who buy early but do not use it properly are the ones who get burned. In any case, Solana's actions have provided a textbook example of how to operate in the future of crypto devices.
