There's wisdom in this. Re-read. The learning lesson is that as things accelerate, your mind becomes even more captured. It's like a virus/vaccine. The virus replicates faster than your cognitive defenses (the vaccine) can keep up. We're already in the Infinite Jest. We're hive minded.
