Trump: "15% economic growth is possible with Washington as Fed Chair."

According to Bloomberg, US President Donald Trump said in a Fox Business interview about Kevin Warsh, his nominee for the next Federal Reserve Chairman, "If he does his job, we can achieve 15% growth, or even more." He went on to say, "The appointment of current Chairman Jerome Powell was a huge mistake, and the reason was that we accepted then-Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin's recommendation." Warsh's Senate confirmation is expected to be difficult. Republican Senator Thom Tillis has declared that he will block his nomination as long as the Justice Department's investigation into Powell and the Fed headquarters renovation project continue. Trump responded by saying, "Delay is delay." In its December outlook, the Fed projected one rate cut in 2026, but the market expects two cuts this year.
