Lightning Labs just released tools for AI agents to pay over Lightning @lightning open-sourced a toolkit that lets AI agents run Lightning nodes, send payments, and access paid APIs without logins, API keys, or accounts. It includes tools for node operations, remote key isolation, scoped permissions, paid endpoints, and a CLI client called lnget that can automatically pay a Lightning invoice when a server returns an HTTP 402 “Payment Required.” The release comes as Coinbase and Stripe are also pushing standards for autonomous payments, showing how fast machine-to-machine commerce infrastructure is developing.
