Howard Biology Ph.D. candidates Olabisis Atofarati and Chukwudi Ikegwu have been selected for the Ecological Society of America’s 2026 Graduate Student Policy Award, becoming the first Howard recipients since the program’s launch in 2007. From aquatic ecosystems and conservation genomics to amphibian biodiversity and environmental DNA, their research is already shaping how we understand fragile ecosystems across the globe.
