It's less a layoff, more a unit economics reset, but most CEOs running this same calculation won't say it. They'll trim 5% per quarter and call it "restructuring." Jack cut nearly half in one move and published the reasoning. Those roles don't come back. The compute bill that replaces them is what no one's talking about yet.
