On March 3rd, Alibaba's AI model Qwen announced the launch of the Qwen 3.5 mini-model series: Qwen3.5-0.8B, Qwen3.5-2B, Qwen3.5-4B, and Qwen3.5-9B. These mini-models are built on the same Qwen3.5 technology platform—native multimodal, improved architecture, and scalable reinforcement learning (RL).
• 0.8B / 2B: Small size, high speed, suitable for edge devices
• 4B: As a lightweight, multimodal foundational model for intelligent agents, it boasts excellent performance.
• 9B: Compact in size, but has gradually narrowed the performance gap with larger models.
Musk publicly praised Alibaba's Qwen model, saying, "Impressive intelligence density."
