What the hell are these Solana guys doing? LOL I just met a really cute girl at a wedding. She's really cute, and she's such a charming person. We talked really well, and the atmosphere was great. She even laughed at my jokes. I was being quite charming, too. Then the topic of crypto came up, and she said, "I use Solana." My ears perked up. Pretending to be cool, I asked, "Oh, cool. What protocol do you use?" She said, "I have some SOL at Kraken." A normal person would have said, "Wow, that's cool," and asked for her number. But I'm not a normal person. My brain went into automatic mode, and I said, "You're at Kraken? At least you have self-custody?" She looked slightly flustered. But I didn't stop. "Do you have a wallet? Do you stake? How much of your DeFi is in it? Are you really active on-chain or just looking at charts on the CEX?" She said. "I just bought SOL and occasionally checked the price." So I said. "Then you're not using Solana." At that moment, the mood completely changed. A friend came and took her away and didn't even look back. I was standing alone at the wedding with a glass of alcohol I didn't drink and mentally calculating whether someone who never left a CEX could really be considered a Solana user. Then, out of the blue, my friend came and asked, "Hey, she liked you. What happened?" I said. "She's holding Solana on Kraken (CEX)." My friend said. "So?" So??? I'd rather live alone than let a centralized exchange (CEx) user who's never opened Phantom think they're in the same ecosystem as me. She's got a pretty face, but her on-chain history is disgusting. Because the on-chain history itself doesn't exist. I can't ignore that. I could have gotten her number. But she knows I'm running DeFi positions on Drift and Camino at 3 a.m. while she's asleep.
